Reliability of Perfect Power Electronics

Perfect Power Articles.

The reliability of automotive electronics is very high, much higher than the fuel pump, the engine, the relays, and the wiring (connections). Of course, each electronic unit is checked, then burned in under power for 24 hours, and then rechecked. The check protocol is inherent in the unit and performed by a computer. The electronic test result and dates are stored in the unit for further reverence.

If the installation gives any trouble, it is to 99% not the electronic box.

Therefore the following must be checked:

•    Fuel pump: Fuel filters
•    Connections
•    Leaks
•    Wiring: All connectors
•    Relays
•    Wiring
•    Battery, charger, terminals

The Perfect Power XMS4 Stand Alone products and the SMT8 piggy-back products must be installed inside the car, and not in the engine bay. If this is impractical, then a cool place in the engine bay (behind the battery) must be chosen, or a place with ventilation.

The electronic box can reach a temperature of up to 65 degrees C before getting into trouble. The electronic components are rated up to 85 degrees C, but develop approx. 10 degrees C by themselves. Higher rated electronics are available. Consult the factory!
